ak47 question
I told you guys about the new ak underfolder I purchased. Well I like it so much I went back and bought a regular stock ak47. here is my question.
On the yugo underfolder if you pull the bolt back it will staty back unless you pull it again and release. This is common on autoloaders to my knowledge. The romanian bolt will not stay back. Anybody know whats up with this? NOOB |

Re: ak47 question
I think it has to do with the magazine you have in it.....seems I've seen them for bolt open or not .......

Re: ak47 question
Thanks for the link TN, but I am talking about with the mag out. What made me notice it was when I cleaned them today. One held open foe easy cleaning. Put the romanian on my cleaning stand and the bolt wont hold.
BW3, I will and see if that helps, thanks NOOB |
Re: ak47 question

Re: ak47 question
the piston and bolt carrier should have a little "wiggle" at the joint. some of the romy kits were pretty worn and the angle of the piston at the joint was too worn and the "wiggle" was excessive. all AKs when new will hold the bolt back under it's own tension and replacing the piston with a new one is kind of a pita. you have to find and pound out the hidden/welded over pin. then unscrew the piston and replace/drill new hold and re-pin, and then re-finish.
not worth worrying about IMHO. |

Pull the bolt open. While holding the bolt fully open, slowly pull down on the trigger. While continuing to hold the trigger down, gradually release the bolt and slowly let it move forward. It will move forward a slight bit and stay locked open. |
